Fort McMurray, AB – January 27, 2015 – Fort McMurray Airport Authority is pleased to announce that Ms. Corrie Flett has been appointed to its Board of Directors, effective immediately.
Corie Flett is an associate lawyer with local law firm Flett Manning Moore, where she focuses primarily on family litigation. Prior to her current position, she worked at other law firms including Campbell & Cooper and Davis LLP. She has also volunteered her legal expertise on a pro-bono basis in rural communities including Fort Chipewyan, Fort McKay, Janvier, and Conklin.
She holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Alberta, as well as a mediation certificate from the Legal Education Society of Alberta. During her schooling, she served as president and vice-president of the Aboriginal Law Students’ Association.
Ms. Flett has been a proud resident of the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo since 1995, and is a member of the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation. She also sits on the Board of Directors for the Northern Lights Health Foundation.
Corrie Flett takes the place of outgoing Board member Cheryl Alexander. The Fort McMurray Airport Authority wishes to express gratitude to Ms. Alexander for her hard work and contributions during her time on the Board.
