Tips for a worry-free check-in process

When travelling within Canada, we recommend you arrive 1.5 to 2 hours before your flight.

For international travel, plan to arrive 3 hours in advance.

If you can, checking in online will save you time when you arrive at YMM. Please note the Fort McMurray Airport terminal closes at midnight.

YMM Airlines

We have several airlines flying out of YMM. Air Canada, WestJet, and Flair Airlines all fly out of the main terminal. McMurray Aviation and Northwestern Air are located along Snow Eagle Drive. Find out more information at the link below.

Online & mobile check-in

Some of our airlines offer online check-in, allowing you to skip the line and save you time when you arrive at the airport. For airline contact information, view our airlines below.

Self-service kiosks and airline desk check-in

Checking in at the airport is quick and easy with our self-service kiosks. Please remember to bring your identification. You will be able to print your boarding passes and baggage tags. Gate agents are here to help if you run into any issues.

Airline desk check-in is also available, and may be necessary if you have any special needs or requests.

Identification requirements

Travelling within Canada? You will need:

  • 18 years of age or older: one piece of government issued identification with a photo, or two pieces of non-photo government issued identification including the person’s name (at least one piece must include date of birth and gender)
  • 2-18: an original birth certificate, or non-government issued identification, eg. student card
  • Under 2: An original birth certificate or photocopy

Travelling international? You will need:

  • All passengers: a valid passport is required
