Fort McMurray, AB – March 5, 2018 – The Fort McMurray International Airport was pleased to take part in the Grand Opening event for Fort McMurray’s new pet boarding facility, K9 Clubhouse. The new business welcomed more than 200 community members out to their Grand Opening on Sunday, March 4. Interested dog owners came out to tour the new facility, have their pets assessed by the K9 Clubhouse team, take advantage of the free nail trimming service and learn about the partnership between Fort McMurray International Airport and K9 Clubhouse, offering the new Bark N’ Park promotion.
The Bark N’ Park promotion makes it easy for dog owners to start their journey at YMM, by offering 50% off of airport parking when passengers board their dogs for any multi-night stay at K9 Clubhouse.
Feedback from customers, including surveys conducted by the airport, indicated a need in the community for more pet boarding services and options specifically for dog owners who are travelling one week or more several times a year.
When K9 Clubhouse announced its intention to open a dog boarding service right here in the community en route to the airport, it became a perfect partnership opportunity to better serve K9 Clubhouse customers, airport passengers and the community as a whole.
“After meeting with Ryan & Liliana Stubbs about their expanding business from obedience to boarding and doggy daycare services, creating a partnership that served our pet owing customers just made sense,” said Rod Hunchak, Vice-Presidents of Commercial at the Fort McMurray Airport Authority. “The Airport’s goal is to be a strong community partner and find local solutions that provide services that make air travel accessible to everyone who wishes to fly out of YMM.”
