Free family event features visiting pilots, aircraft displays, music and aviation career exploration
Fort McMurray, AB – The Fort McMurray Airport Authority, in partnership with Alberta Air Tours, is inviting residents to experience the excitement of aviation at the Community Aviation Event on Saturday, Aug. 15 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the former YMM north terminal building on Snow Eagle Drive.
Pilots from across Alberta will fly into Fort McMurray as part of Alberta Air Tours, giving visitors a rare opportunity to view a variety of aircraft up close, meet the pilots behind the controls and learn more about the people and careers that keep Canada’s aviation industry moving.
“This event is all about bringing people together through a shared appreciation of aviation,” said Denean Robinson, President and CEO of the Fort McMurray Airport Authority. “Whether you’re an aviation enthusiast, exploring a future career or simply looking for a fun family outing, we hope you’ll join us to experience the excitement of aviation and meet the people who help keep our communities connected.”

- A barbecue by donation in support of the 868 Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron

Admission and parking are free, and everyone is welcome.
