Fort McMurray, AB – December 12, 2014 Jesse Meyer, Manager of Commercial Services at Fort McMurray International Airport, was selected as one of the top 40 aviation professionals under 40 in Airport Business Magazine’s annual list. This award, established by the magazine in 2012, features leading young individuals in the industry who pair successful careers with active involvement in their communities.

“We are delighted, but not at all surprised, to see Jesse’s hard work recognized through his inclusion on the Top 40 Under 40 list. We have proudly watched his career develop and flourish as part of the Fort McMurray Airport Authority team,” said Scott Clements, President and CEO of the Fort McMurray Airport Authority. “He is an asset to our organization and to the Wood Buffalo community.”

Since joining the Fort McMurray Airport Authority in 2012, Meyer has led the rebranding of the airport, significantly expanded the food and retail options in the new terminal, and lobbied airlines for additional direct air service to Fort McMurray, amongst other accomplishments. He has also become involved in tourism in the Fort McMurray region. He sits on the Board of the Directors for Fort McMurray Tourism, and is involved with media, communications, and promotions for the Western Canada Summer Games 2015 Wood Buffalo. He also sits on the Marketing & Communications Committee of Airports Council International – North America (ACI-NA).

Meyer holds a Master’s of Business Administration in Airport Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, as well as a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing from the University of Alberta. Before joining the Fort McMurray Airport Authority, Meyer held positions at the Vancouver Airport Authority, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and Vancouver General Hospital.
